Tom Behn has been one of the travel product companies long before experimenting with the Western flight. I bought them aeronate and immediately liked the stability and ability of the bag. I asked Tom Behn if I could check a different bag since I was taken for months. I went with the Western Flyer and have been examining it for the past few months to take it fair and honest.

The first thing you will see is the quality of the bag. It’s made Made of US 1050 Denier Ballistic Nylon: 1680 Daniere Fabric Fabric Resistance. Basically this means really strong. Still made from interior dYamma/Nylon Rip Stop that is very light and strong.

Dimension:

  • Overall dimensions: 18 ″ x 12 ″ x 7 ″ / 455 x 305 x 180 mm
  • Volume: 26 liters (1600 cubic in.)
  • Weight: 2.53 pounds / 1150 grams

Western flying is not as big as his older brother, aeronate, but it is ideal for Kerry on or overnight bags. As the flight can be used as a bag with Tom Behn’s aeronate or a brief case style can be taken. Further perseverance in this makes it a great choice of travel. I have worn it as a bag for weekend trips and picked it up as a duffle.

Packing space

As mentioned above, it is 26 liters. This does not mean that you get so many clothes a week, but it is excellent at night bags at night and you may increase it at the weekend according to the need for its destination and clothing.

The Western Flyer has two main parts of equal size and this is what I was able to pack in the bag:

Both parties packed:

It is a pair of shoes, jeans, shirts, exercise gear, polo, buttons down, and just a couple of socks in the back basket.

In the front I packed my MacBook Air and a book:

The best thing about this bag is that it is lining. Since it can be taken as a bag or brief case, it makes it possible to carry extra bags and still easily take the Western flying. The bag can be removed when I am not in use.

Another way to pack more and be organized is to use Tom Bean packing cubes. I didn’t use them in this example but I use them with aeronate all the time. They are great to stay organized and compact your clothes in your luggage.

If you add absolute straps of shoulder to it, the bag can also be taken as a shoulder bag. I use it all the time on my aeronate and believe it or not, it really makes a difference when taking the bag. It is made of a “control stretch” material that makes it very easy to carry heavy bags. Usually I will not recommend spending $ 30 on just one strap, but in this case it is worth it. We all know how horrible hard duffle bag straps feel after about 15 minutes of carrying heavy bags. As soon as I got this strap, I didn’t stop using it so check it.

Positive things about this bag for me but something is difficult to say but there is one thing I will increase. When carrying it as a bag, a water bottle is needed to hold out. It has an outer pocket that doubles the water bottle like holder when the bag takes the brief case style. I think adding a pocket to the side of the bag would go away from the design but I would like something that opens when I picked up vertically in the bag mode and the zipper goes away if not in use. This is not a major problem and has not stopped me from using the Western Flyer regularly. Water bottle is a good place and you can see it in the picture below.

Its stability and ability puts it on the top. With a lot of pockets and packing spaces you should make this going bag for short tours.

It can also be easily used as a tremendous laptop bag or Carrie On. I always pick up my laptop with my other gear even when I don’t pack clothes in it. Parts can be divided into half to make pockets to keep things organized.
